Dr. Jun Wang’s research focuses on health and risk communication, with a particular emphasis on message design and effects, health information-seeking behaviors, and the role of social media. Her work explores how communication influences health behaviors and outcomes, especially among adolescents and young adults.
She currently leads the Social Media and Resilient Teens (SMART) project—an NIH-funded initiative based at Texas A&M University. The SMART project aims to foster positive social media experiences and promote mental health by centering youth voices and building strong youth–adult partnerships.
